Jane Armstrong  ‘Capheaton Garden: Past, Present and Future’

An illustrated talk by Head Gardener Jane Armstrong, providing some historical context for the present garden and showing how it has evolved over the centuries. Jane will also tell us about the team’s current approach, their successes, and future projects. From pineapples, rainbow-coloured beetroot and naturalised tulips, there will be something of interest, whatever your gardening preferences.

POP-UP PLANT SALES - Sat 28 May; Sat 2 July; Sat 23 July - see EVENTS PROGRAMME

COVID PRECAUTIONS  Although Covid restrictions have now been relaxed, the virus is still around. We will use an air purifier in the hall and some external doors will be left open in order to increase ventilation. As a consequence, it may not be as warm as usual in the hall. Do wrap up well. Door handles will be sanitised. Chairs will be well spaced. Hand sanitiser will be available. Out of consideration for others, it would be helpful if you could carry out a lateral flow test on the day of the meeting and we are still encouraging you to wear a mask if possible. Please sanitise your hands upon arrival and maintain social distancing. If you are not vaccinated or have any symptoms, even of a regular cold, please do not attend.
