We are a small friendly society which aims to encourage interest in plants and gardens. Our members range from beginners to seasoned gardeners and bring a range of skills, experience and expertise. All are welcome and we enjoy sharing our horticultural experiences. Read more

WINTER PROGRAMME of TALKS 2022 

 

Tuesday 18th January, Zoom talk   Adam Pasco – "Spring into Action & Get Set for Summer"

Packed with ideas and inspiration for the gardening year ahead, this timely spring gardening talk, complete with beautiful photographs will take us through a wide range of activities that can be put straight into action. Adam shares his wealth of practical gardening experience to help you get the very best from your garden, filling it with colour, fragrance, cut flowers and delicious fruits, crops, salads and herbs.

For this event, we are joining forces with our friends in Corbridge Gardening Society.

 

Tuesday 15th February, Zoom talk   Dr Catherine Horwood – ‘Gardening Women: their stories from 1600 to the present’

Catherine Horwood is an English journalist, author and social historian who writes extensively on horticulture, garden design, and in fashion, the history of dress. Her fourth book about Gardening Women is the subject of her talk, offering you an entertaining look at some of the hidden women in horticulture.

For this event, we are joining forces with our friends in Corbridge Gardening Society.
